“Apocalipsis de nuestro tiempo” es una creación audiovisual que se estructura a partir de las pinturas en grandes dimensiones de Julio Escámez y la composición musical de Arnold Schoenberg, “La Noche Transfigurada”. Es un documental que construye una ficción y revela las atrocidades del mundo capitalista, y como, a través de la historia y sus cambios, se manifiesta la inexorable transformación de la realidad social.
La película se estrenó en el Festival de las Artes de Costa Rica y se ha presentado en el Festival ArtesDoc de la ciudad de México, en la competencia Oficial del Festival de la Memoria en Cuernavaca, así como en la selección oficial del Festival Internacional de Cine de Murcia - España, entre otros.

Ishtar Yasin Gutiérrez:
Ishtar Yasin is a Costa Rican, Iraqi, Chilean filmmaker. Since 1998, produces, writes and directs creative documentaries, short and feature films.
She was born in Moscow in 1968 and after the military coup in Chile, Ishtar and her family were exiled in Costa Rica. She studies in the Costa Rican art school Conservatorio Castella ((1979-1984).
Ishtar has a Master in Arts in the State Cinema Institute of Moscow VGIK (1985-1990). In 1986 she was awarded with the Pushkin Prize in Moscow. In 1990 she had the leading role in the feature film “Full Moon” in Kazakhstan.
In 1992 she founded Ambar Theater, where she worked as a playwright, director and actress. She was awarded with the National Award of Theater in Costa Rica for the production “Agonize with Elegance”. In 1998 she founded Astarté Films where she works as script-writer, producer and director.
In 2004 she writes and directs the interdisciplinary play “Los que pintan en cielo” in the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. In 2008 her first feature film “El Camino” was premiered in FORUM, Oficial Competition in the Berlin International Film Festival.
In 2010 she travelled with an “Itinerant cinema” to Haiti and she makes the crative documentary film “Les invisibles”. In 2011 she produces the medium-length documentary film “My Judith”, as part of the investigation of the project of her feature film “Two Fridas”
Ishtar has written poems and published stories. She has taught filmmaking, scriptwriting, direction of actors and acting in several universities in Latin America.
